Arrival at JFK
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is a major international airport located in Queens, New York City. It is the primary international airport serving New York City and one of the busiest airports in the United States.
All flights to the US require an inspection just before boarding, so arrive at the gate early. Upon arrival, ensure that you have your passport readily accessible for inspection. Proceed to the designated line for non-citizens at the customs checkpoint. Expect to undergo an interview with a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer, followed by fingerprinting and the retrieval of your baggage.

Briefing
Upon their arrival in New York, we will convene in the hotel lobby to greet everyone, answer questions, and address administrative issues. On the morning of our first visit day, after everyone has arrived, we will hold a brief session to go over the upcoming itineraries and resolve any administrative matters.
Ensure all administrative tasks, such as balance settlements and signing, are completed before the session. Afterward, we will walk with you to the subway station to assist in getting a weekly subway card. Please bring about USD 40 in cash, as credit cards may not be accepted at the subway vending machines. The New York Public Library stands as the second largest public library in the United States. Among its branches, the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building is particularly notable as one of the library's premier research centers. The building is often simply referred to as the "Main Branch" or "The Schwarzman Building" and is renowned for its grand architecture, research collections, and public spaces. It houses numerous special collections, research materials, and exhibits, making it a significant cultural and intellectual hub in New York City.

Winter Village at Bryant Park
The Holiday Winter Village at Bryant Park is an annual holiday market located in the heart of Manhattan, New York City, typically running from late October or early November to early January. The market offers a festive atmosphere with a wide array of vendors selling holiday-themed goods, crafts, clothing, jewelry, and food. Visitors can explore the market's stalls for unique gifts and enjoy seasonal treats. The village also features attractions like an ice skating rink, a decorated Christmas tree, and live entertainment, making it a beloved holiday destination in New York City.
Students will be given some time to explore the venue and enjoy lunch on their own and will need to gather back at the scheduled time.

Hudson Yards and the Vessel
Hudson Yards is a large-scale real estate development located on the west side of Manhattan in New York City that was designed as a mixed-use development, featuring a variety of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. The Vessel is one of the most recognizable landmarks at Hudson Yards is “The Vessel,” a spiral-shaped structure with staircases and platforms that visitors can climb for panoramic views of the city.
Following our lunch, we’ll hop on the 7 train for a brief stop at Hudson Park’s famous Vessel for a photo op. Given that Hudson is at one end of the 7 line and Flushing at the other, students can consider having dinner inside the mall or nearby and conveniently head back to the hotel together by taking the 7 train.

The High Line
The High Line is a unique urban elevated linear park and green space that was built on a historic freight rail line. The park is located on Manhattan’s West Side and stretches for approximately 1.45 miles (2.33 kilometers), running from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to 34th Street, near the Hudson Yards development.
After our photo stop at Hudson Yards, we'll walk to the High Line, another great spot for photos, and dismiss the group there. Following dismissal, students can explore further into Chelsea or loop back to Hudson Yards for shopping and dining. Afterwards, they can take the 7 train back to the hotel, which is at the other end of the 7 line.

Hamilton-Madison House, established in 1898 as a non-profit settlement house in Chinatown/Lower East Side, enriches the lives of diverse NYC residents. HMH prioritizes vulnerable populations, including the elderly, children, individuals with illnesses or disabilities, new immigrants, refugees, and the unemployed. Their adult center boasts 5,000+ members citywide.
On the scheduled day, students will visit Isabel Ching, LMSW, Executive Director at Hamilton-Madison House, who has a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit organization management industry. They will engage in discussions to learn about the organization’s operations, services, social challenges, and issues.

Banking & Leadership Talk by Mark Ricca

Toby Ann Stavisky is a groundbreaking figure as the first woman from Queens County to be elected to the State Senate and the first woman to chair the Senate Committee on Higher Education. In 2023, her Senate district shifted from the 16th to the 11th.
Students will visit NYS Senator Stavisky and her staff at her new office in College Point. During this visit, she will share her experiences as a woman in the NY Senate and discuss community issues.

The United Nations, established in 1945, is a global organization dedicated to promoting international cooperation and maintaining peace. With its headquarters located in the heart of New York City, the United Nations serves as a hub for diplomacy and collective action, addressing a wide range of pressing global issues.
On the scheduled day, students will visit the United Nations’s headquarters in NYC for a guided tour, gaining unique insights into the organization's vital work. This exceptional experience will grant them unique insights into the organization's essential work and mission.

What to Note
Students will be given some time to enjoy their own lunch at the Ron Kim's Office building, which has a food court on the first floor. Then, we will need to gather back at 3 PM. Please wrap up your visit and ensure that you leave the premises on time. Avoid staying out too late and remember to check out before 11 a.m. the next day.
Goodbye NYC
Capping off an enjoyable journey, the program will come to an end on January 13th as students check out by 11 am.
Unless they choose to extend their stay, the majority of students are likely to depart from NYC on this date. When checking out, please double-check that you have all your belongings to ensure nothing is left behind. Additionally, check in for your flight at least 24 hours prior to boarding and schedule to arrive at the airprot at least 3 hours prior to the boarding time.
