Reece, an Economics major from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and Joseph from Korea University, embarked on transformative internships in 2023 at NYS Assemblyman Ron Kim's district office in Flushing, Queens.
Reece's internship occurred during the summer of 2023, while Joseph's commitment extended for six months, starting in the winter of the same year.
Assemblyman Ron Kim represents New York's 40th District in the State Assembly and is known for his dedication to constituents. Inspired by his commitment, Reece and Joseph sought to contribute meaningfully to the community.
Reece, with her background in economics and business, dove into New York State politics and policies. She actively assisted constituents, gaining insights into public service's impact. Participation in important meetings alongside Assemblyman Kim provided firsthand insights into public office's complexities.
Joseph, full of excitement, embraced his internship with eagerness, ready for the experience ahead.
Both Reece and Joseph were drawn to Assemblyman Kim's office not by titles but by the opportunity to engage with constituents, build connections, and contribute to society. Their internships left profound impacts, instilling in them a sense of purpose in serving the community.
As they return to their studies, Reece and Joseph carry with them the determination to apply the knowledge and values gained from their internships to inspire change and make lasting impacts on society.
